Waking up to Spring

Waking up for Spring.

Hills, buds & bright days ahead…….

Sometimes, the best weekends are the simple ones—time with family, good walks, and a reminder that nature is doing its thing, whether we notice it or not! This weekend, I took a gorgeous walk up Whita hill with my dog Phoebe, it felt like watching the world waking up for Spring with the blue skies and a little warmth in the sun. The hawthorn buds are just starting to pop, the ferns uncurling and some bluebells and cherry blossom showing off their colours. We didn’t see any swallows but we heard the distinctive cuckoos and lots of other bird song. It was one of those perfect “pause and soak it in” moments.

There’s something magical about being in nature, isn’t there? Breathing in fresh air, feeling the steady rhythm of footsteps, and just letting your thoughts wander. It’s not just a walk—it’s a reset! In hypnotherapy, we talk a lot about focusing on the good, finding momentum, and making space for calm. Nature does it effortlessly. No rush, no pressure—it just grows.

This weekend gave me a little nudge to appreciate the simple things—family, sunshine, and that feeling of pure freedom that comes from a good walk. What’s your favourite way to switch off and recharge …..
